During my co-op at Bevi, I had the opportunity to take ownership of a component for production in one of their water machines.
Background
An unreleased product required a component made of injection-molded polypropylene. The CAD model shown was created using SolidWorks and designed within certain constraints for interacting with other components

Process
Designed the component using SolidWorks
To verify the effectiveness of the design and material choices, rapid prototypes were created to verify fit and function
Created technical drawings for over 20 components in the machine
Participated in design reviews of drawings, sample components and assembly process
Results
During this process I further refined my ability to create CAD models and drawings for manufacturing use. By the end of my co-op I had created a part, from start to finish, for use in the production of a water machine. However, I was also reminded of the joy that comes from creating a new product as part of a team!
